Warehouse Sanitation

Denver, CO          Full Time          Experienced

SUMMARY: To assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse.

RELATIONSHIPS:  Reports to the Warehouse management team and establishes positive relationships with maintenance and other warehouse personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  (other duties may be assigned):

  • Perform heavy manual labor in the collection and disposal of refuse; lift, carry and dump refuse
  • Operate powered forklift or jack to move objects within the warehouse.
  • Operate sanitation vehicle to clean floors
  • Maintain trash in all areas of the warehouse
  • Wipe down all fixtures and ballasts throughout the warehouse
  • Check mouse traps
  • Clean parking lot
  • Clean out dock levelers
  • Sweep floors
  • Clean out drains
  • Maintain a dust free warehouse
  • Maintain accurate and current records of chemicals and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School education or equivalent.  This individual must be able to learn, practice, correct and report variations to Silliker Standards, chemical storage and PPE procedures.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:  Ability to communicate verbally with employees and vendors at all levels reading and speaking in English.

PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Able to anticipate potential problems and create contingency plans to ensure work is accurate and timely so that the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.  This individual must be able to recognize and report conditions that effect sanitation standards.

PHYSICAL NEEDS: Drive stand-up, riding power jack for movement of objects throughout the warehouse (up to eight hours per day). This individual must be able to work in a noisy environment with fluctuations in temperature. They must be able to climb staircases.  They must be able to work from foot and from standing and seated powered equipment for extended periods of time (up to 2 consecutive hours without break).   This individual must be able to identify and clean floor and wall areas requiring close observation through kneeling, bending and reaching. They must be able to walk a 10 lb. sweep broom for up to two consecutive hours at a brisk pace.  They must be able to lift, carry, and stack equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. for distances up to 25 feet up and down stairs.  This individual must be able to work in internal and external zero temperature environments for up to one hour.  This individual must be able to work around machinery with moving parts (trash compactors and cardboard compactors) and be aware of fork lift and pallet jack traffic by maintaining knowledge of movement and location.

REQUIRED PPE

  • Steel toed shoes
  • Freezer suit (in the freezer area only)
  • When changing batteries – mask/full face shield, bib, gloves
