HR Generalist

Denver, CO          Full Time          Experienced

SUMMARY:

Provides administrative support to one or more human resource/compliance functions. Able to work alone with little supervision on day to day functions of the position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Orientation for new hires, preparation for onboarding – including follow up
  • Employee relations, investigations and solving escalated issues between all levels
  • Offers guidance to all levels of leadership and hourly employees
  • Assists with pre-employment and employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; conducts background checks and onboarding.
  • Interacts with and supplies information to job applicants, employees/managers, department heads, and public and private agencies.
  • Performs HRIS data entry; processes and maintains personnel records and reports.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer human resource tasks and programs including but not limited to company apparel, philanthropic, and educational programs.
  • Manages department invoices, maintains effective communication with other departments and vendors.
  • Collects and interprets data; creates HR reports, analyzes results using statistical techniques.
  • Responds to verification of employment requests.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists the HR Department with variety of projects and auditing.
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, Excel,  Office, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years experience as an HR Generalist
  • Associates degree or its equivalent (preferred)
  • Heavy employee relations experience within a warehouse/manufacturing experience is a must.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

  • Ability to learn and utilize computer programs to advance functional aspects of Human Resource administration.
  • Ability to coach other employees in the effective use of programs, as needed.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and compose professional reports and correspondence to recipients within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to establish basic communication with applicants and employees for whom English is not their primary language.
  • English Language skills required
  • Bilingual/Spanish Skills a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sub total, grand total, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to express technical HR-related mathematical concepts to line and management employees.

RESONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical information and concepts and to present this information to non-technical employees with line and management responsibilities.

  • Walk up and down stairs (6-20) steps two to ten times per shift – May be required to carry items up and down.
  • Walk from 15-100 feet two to ten times per shift.
  • Lifting 5 to 26lbs one to ten repetitions per week

SCHEDULE:

Monday – Friday / 8am – 4:30pm

PAYRATE:

$68k – $80k/year BOE
