Night Warehouse Receiver

Job Description

Receive and stock products to freezer and dry storage.
Responsibilities
  • Uses power equipment (stand-up forklift) to unload products from common carrier trailers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Uses hand-held device to verify shipping manifest and enter received goods to inventory.
  • Uses power equipment to place product into proper storage racks.
  • Uses proper lifting and material handling techniques when hand-stacking cases.
  • Promptly notifies supervision in the event of damaged or short loads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:
Ability to communicate in oral and written form with employees at all levels and vendors.
PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:
Able to anticipate potential problems and create contingency plans to ensure work is accurate and timely (as in the case of the monthly close). Have the cognitive skill to accurately match numbers and numerical sequences to written and electronic file displays.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with keyboarding skills and ability to learn software for data entry and report usage; knowledge of PTM software is helpful.
  • General knowledge of Fleet operations, equipment and terminology.
  • General accounting knowledge with one-year experience in a general office with A/P, or A/R responsibility.
  • Knowledge of DOT record keeping requirements.
Physical Needs
  • Able to work in a noisy environment with fluctuations in temperature.
  • Must be able to climb staircases.
  • Have the ability to work from foot and from standing and seated powered equipment or extended periods of time (up to 2 consecutive hours without break).
  • Must be able to lift, and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Required PPE:
  • Steel toed shoes
  • Freezer suit (in the freezer area only)
  • When changing batteries – mask/full face shield, bib, gloves
Compensation
$23.71/hour
