Job Description

SUMMARY: The Warehouse Order Selector will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing products for shipment, ensuring timely and precise order fulfillment. This role requires operating warehouse equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
(other duties may be assigned)
  • Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order specifications using barcodes and serial numbers.
  • Operate handling equipment, such as forklifts or electric pallet jacks, in compliance with safety regulations. Build pallets of product by selecting cases weighing 10 to 50 lbs.
  • Securely package items, utilizing shrink wrap or other protective materials, to prepare orders for shipment.
  • Report Out-of-stock or damaged product as discovered. Update inventory records after each order fulfillment to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Assist in loading delivery vehicles to ensure efficient dispatch of orders.
  • Perform routine warehouse tasks, including restocking shelves and general cleaning, to maintain an organized workspace.
  • Meet and maintain established performance targets (cases per hour) and accuracy standards within six weeks of hire.

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Ability to operate or willingness to learn the operation of forklifts and electric pallet jacks; certification is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order fulfillment.

General knowledge of the selection process; experience in a food DC is preferred. Knowledge necessary to inspect equipment for safety and operational concerns. Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS: Ability to recognize and respond to oral and written instructions provided in English. Must be able to respond to audio cues.  Must have the ability to communicate and work well with personnel at all levels within the organization and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.  PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Prepares in advance for known fluctuations in workloads.  Adapts to changes in workflow.
Physical Needs
Must be able to work from a standing position while operating equipment.  Must be able to step on and off pallet jack and pallets; bend, crouch, and lift cases weighing from 10 to 50 lbs from pallet height to an elevation of seven feet turn; twist and step to securely transfer objects to other pallets from level of pallet to seven feet elevation.  This process is constantly repeated for a duration of two hours for four intervals per day.  Must be able to work in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures; may include refrigerated or freezer areas (zero degrees) for at least two hours for four intervals per day.  Ability to achieve and maintain performance expectations related to speed and accuracy within six weeks of onboarding.
Work Environment

REQUIRED PPE

  • Steel-toed shoes
  • Freezer suit (in the freezer area only)
  • When changing batteries – mask/full face shield, bib, gloves

Schedule

  • Swing Shift: 3:30pm start
  • Weekend Availability is Required
  • Schedule will be discussed further at Interview
Compensation
Starting at $22.71/hour
