Warehouse Supervisor (Nights)

Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Manager in the overseeing of daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of inventory, and leading warehouse staff to meet operational goals. This role assists in managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including staff supervision, inventory control, and process optimization.

Responsibilities
(other duties may be assigned)
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in supervising and coordinating the receiving, storing, and shipping of inventory.
  • Manage warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management, in the absence of the warehouse manager.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory and maintain organized storage areas.
  • Implement and enforce warehouse processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Developing new processes for the warehouse.
  • Developing and growing employee productivity and accuracy.
  • Issuing write-ups for performance and attendance.
  • Overseeing the ASN system.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the WMS (Warehouse Management System), IDS (Inventory Data System), and JDE (JD Edwards).
  • Developing a strong working relationship between day and night shifts.
  • Managing inventory.
  • Operate warehouse management system (WMS) and other relevant software to track inventory and manage operations.
  • Prepare and analyze warehouse reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensure dispatch times are met and routes leave on time.
Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent education.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in warehouse supervision or management position.
  • Completes on-going management education through internal and external sources, as required.

Requirements

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: Ability to learn and utilize computer programs to advance functional aspects of assigned department. Ability to coach other employees in the effective use of programs, as needed. Basic competency with Microsoft Office.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and compose professional reports and correspondence to recipients within and outside of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as subtotal, grand total, and percentages. Ability to express technical department-related mathematical concepts to line and management employees.

PROBLEM SOLVING: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to analyze complex technical information and concepts and to present information to non-technical employees with line and management responsibilities.

REQUIRED PPE:

    • Steel toed shoes
    • Freezer suit (in the freezer area only)
    • When changing batteries – mask/full face shield, bib, gloves
Work Environment
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold and/or humid conditions; and moving mechanical parts and maybe required to work in confined spaces.
  • The associate works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on call.
  • May occasionally be required to travel due to business needs.
  • Periodically exposed to high, precarious places.
  • Sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Schedule

2:30 pm start. Week days to be discussed in interview.
Compensation
$70,000 - $75,000/year
