Humble Beginnings

Michael Taddonio arrived in the United States from Italy and worked as a peddler in Denver selling fruits and vegetables door-to-door to various neighbors writing the amount owed on their picket fences.

Denargo Market

Anthony, Sam, and Roxie Taddonio started Taddonio Brothers’ produce business in their father’s garage on Jason Street, North Denver. With one truck, they sold potatoes. They soon moved to Denargo Market, establishing Mile Hi Fruit & Vegetable, and expanded their sales to local restaurants and grocery stores.

McDonald's in Denver

The first McDonalds opens in Denver and Mile Hi Fruit & Vegetable is awarded the potato contract. As McDonalds grew, so did Mile Hi Fruit & Vegetable.

Third Generation Joins

Tony Taddonio, joins Mile Hi Fruit & Vegetable, and becomes the sole owner of the company. Today, known as Mile Hi Foods, this division exclusively serves 360+ McDonald’s restaurants in the Rocky Mountain Region.

The Big Move

Mile Hi Fruit and Vegetable and Frozen Foods moved from Denargo Market to 50th and Dahlia in Northern Denver where Mile Hi Warehousing & Logistics currently resides.

The New Bakery

Tony Taddonio adds Mile Hi Bakery to produce all of the buns used by McDonald’s in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Fourth Generation Joins

Kristy and Toni Taddonio join their parents in the business, starting the fourth generation to run the family business.

2010

Foundation Formed

The Taddonio Family Foundation is established. A non-profit entity created to further enhance community involvement targeting charitable support to organizations improving the lives of children.

New LEED Gold Bakery

Mile Hi Bakery builds a new LEED Gold certified Bakery with state of the art equipment and added an English muffin line to increase capabilities.

Mile Hi Warehousing & Logistics Formed

Mile Hi Warehousing and Logistics is created to provide distribution services, manufacturing space and cold storage to quick service restaurants.

Mile Hi Bakery Sold

Mile Hi Bakery is sold to allow for new distribution expansion opportunities.
